Anyone ever bought a new tool and it just turned out to be a piece of crap! I have a Finex FX100 mini gun. Sometimes I just want to throw that thing against the wall. Its crap! I guess thats what I get for buying cheap.
November 21, 2009 at 8:09 pm #17111I got a borescope from harbor freight years ago. Somewhere in the area of $200. Basically just a 1/4 inch tube with lenses on either end, and a place to screw in a mini mag light. Can’t see Sh*t with it. Learned not to buy something without trying it out first.
November 21, 2009 at 9:00 pm #17116my sharpe platinum 1.5 was a steaming pile of a gun even bought a 1.3 tipset trying ta get that thing ta spray nice :wak :wak :wak
I’m with you on the Finex mini. I was using mine to do a small spot job on an old 55 chevy. Trigger stuck wide open and ran the clear down the side of the car. That gun hit the ground hard and broke into three pieces. This wasn’t the first time it had screwed me on a little job but it was the last time.
there was this mobile tool auction that came to the local vfw and set up, basically a tractor trailer packed with chinese tools. Well i bought a floor jack with 2 jack stands for $40 and a 4 inch electric grinder for $12. The jack went up once and stayed in that position, had to pull the oil plug to get my car down so it got scrapped :woohoo: I wondered why the grinder came with a new set of brushes, didnt take but 30 seconds to find out why :rofl The jack stands are ok but i wouldnt extend them :S Hey han hows that tram workin out for ya :exci

November 22, 2009 at 4:09 am #17126I bought a drill bit sharpener from one of those truckload tool shows. It caught on fire the first time I plugged it in. 😉
Yep. that’s it.
The worse tool I ever bought was a drill bit sharpener…
First time I used it, it like stripped the holder out or something, so it wouldn’t hold the bits right and it would cut it entirely fucked up. so you couldn’t drill anything with the bit… Destroyed every drill bit it touched…
Haven’t used it since, I’d rather sharpen it by hand with a stone… :SNovember 22, 2009 at 9:16 am #171284″ electric grinders from Princess Auto – I go through one in about a year. Why do I keep buying these things (or getting them replaced?)? The problem is always the cheap rocker power switch. How did this tool get through any safety testing when the switch doesn’t go off with the power. One time the switch broke and I didn’t know, when I plugged it in it took off and cut through my air line. Good thing it didn’t take me out :rofl

throughout my career ive bought loads of crappy tools, but the one that topped the list had to be a viking straight line sander. it would work fine freely but once i put it on the surface of a car it would lock up. i kept having this problem with all brands of straight line sanders until i bought a hutchins hustler. that was the last straight line sander i bought and that was about 9 years ago.
