My question is does having a full Gold I-Car Certified shop make a difference?
I mean very few shops around here have any Certified Techs.
So does it matter, I know to general customer base they see it as providing quality.
But what about insurance companies?… Do they give a rats hoot about it? Are they willing to fork out extra dough to have certified techs work on their collisions? Is opening a gold certified shop a good advantage over other shops?

These classes are both eligible for I-CAR points for about $10 per point. Much less than the $60-100 dollar a point that the coupons cost you depending on if you are gold or platium or paying at the door or in advance.
In addition many other classes offered by dealers and Aftermarket suppliers like Fusor are eligible for this same discount on their co-op program. Saves you money and keeps you from repeating classes.
Do yourselves a favor and get involved not only in taking the classes, but asking what you can do to help improve them. I have long said that I-CAR is similar to our government: You have the one you deserve! If you don’t like them find out what you and those around you can do to change them. I-CAR has com3e on troubled times and should be very open to shop owners and techs comments and opinions if they want to survive.
