Well over analyzing again and trying to figure out what to do with the fender.
Right as I get to the lower body line. The fender is mis stamped and takes a steep and incorrect angle.
Yet everything above it is perfectly straight.Practically the exact opposite problem I had on the other side.
On the other side I simply added to the door edge.
But on this side the only option looks like removing material. and a lot of it. :huh:It’s a little better now. but here’s an older picture showing the problem.
Notice how right above the lower body line the line is straight, then curves after the lower body line.

The original fenders I have for another car in the shop fit this perfectly.
But this one is like miss stamped. you can even see on the bottom edge. How about midway if flows upward as it gets to the rocker. What the hell can you do to correct it?
I feel that taking a hammer to that entire lower edge is just going to boo boo it up too bad.I’m thinking the best option is to cut a relief right at the bottom body line, and just lift the entire edge below that line, and basically reseat the the lower half as if I was putting a skin on it.
Or cut it off, re-weld the two seams together and work from there. 😆
Here’s how the other side was with the door too short. :S

Joe saying Aftermarket panels fit… My ass. 😆

I dont know squat, But I think I am looking at the right side.
I think you need to left the front of the fender a tad and Redo the whole rocker panel lifting it up and forward a tad? What the heck after all the other work you did.
Think of it this way from now on after market sheet metal will always fit this car :laugh:Actually these years need a larger Rocker to door gap because the rocker is at an upward angle. Meaning if the rocker is up too high, or the door is too low. When opened the door will swing inward and catch the upward angle of the rocker.
I guess there isn’t much reason why I couldn’t put a bigger relief in the rocker though.
Hmm, Maybe an early mustang with a nice lower door gap. :laugh:You did try an OEM fender after the car was set up there and the original fender removed right.? If you havnt checked this AFTER you removed the original fender i definitely would as they are stiff enough to hold things together. Looks like maybe you got a case of the rotator jacking those flimsy front rails out of datum, i hope its just crappy fenders but the pics depict the body lines and fender bottoms also cockeyed which is why i ask.
