I was thinking I had a Bandwidth problem or the kid was Burning it all up with his PC games but NO.
I have unplugged every one on my net work and sure enough all other web sights load good.
its just this one is supper slow to load. (not any one particular thread either seams to be all)Its bad on threads with pics such as the one with the V8 Bug.
But even threads that dont have any pics at all are slow too. What gives Jimmo?
Is it your Host?October 31, 2010 at 8:27 pm #24834hmmm i havnt noticed it being that slow myself how about some of ya other guys???
November 1, 2010 at 2:40 am #24846never had a problem. There are some random sites that give my laptop fits, and I don’t know why. for example – IMDB.com is a killer. not other machines on the same connection, just my laptop. I’m not a big enough computer nerd to figure it out… you probably have a similar issue.
November 1, 2010 at 7:24 am #24854At home it seems to be fine. At work its soooo slow! It takes a few seconds just to scroll down the page.
November 1, 2010 at 4:20 pm #24865I realize the site has never been the quickest loading on the net and I’m always trying to improve it when I can. I know there is a major update planned for the framework that is supposed to drastically increase the sites speed. I am thinking of putting a test site together to see for myself, maybe I can have you test it out and see how much things improve for you. I have a pretty highend (well expensive atleast..lol) plan for the server/host were using and I think if theres a problem its likely on my end. Also maybe pay attention to how many users are on and how many guys are on ventrilo when it seems extra slow, I’ve been thinking I may need to get a seperate server for it in the near future… I do notice alot of the high pics/video threads take a while, the latest update I’ve found helps because it loads the page for you to see and does the images afterwards…don’t know if thats maybe caused some problems for your browser either, maybe upgrading if your not using the latest may help.
November 1, 2010 at 4:23 pm #24866
No slow loading problems for me but when i first go onto the site comes up with 404 error??
I don’t like the sounds of that, are you using a bookmark that’s maybe outdated. If you could get me more info about how you reach the site I can see if I can get things sorted…..Sorry guys, I’m a painter then a webdesigner! :compsmash
November 1, 2010 at 10:10 pm #24870I’ve made a few changes to the site utilizing some compression, see if you notice a difference. Sometimes the compression interferes with other things on the site so if anyone notices any problems or has login issues email me @ justin_jimmo@hotmail.com . It seems to me it does help but the compression puts a load on the server with the processing so i’m worried at peak times the site will really slow down, if thats the case i’ll upgrade the server. Let me know if you notice any difference fellas.
November 2, 2010 at 8:19 am #24895up to a couple of days ago, i would get that 404 error code. so the site off the my favorite tab, and then resaved it. haven’t had a problem since.
