I put the paper up against the opening — sometimes taped to hold in place — then use my fingers to get
the outline and cut it slightly smaller. For large openings, you want to make some braces with the tape
like what BK did here so it’s somewhat stiffer/flatter. You can also roll up your cut paper and basically unroll
it onto the opening.March 20, 2009 at 11:09 pm #13513When taping the interior door jamb area, I will pull the door rubber, mask on the backside of the door opening with 2″ so the sticky side is facing out, then I will pull a piece of paper that is larger than the opening and lay it on there, pushing it all around the edges..
I will also take 3/4″ masking tape and run it up and down and side to side for reinforcement in between the 2″ tape.. once you lay the paper on there its a done deal and it does a nice job in my opinion..
No tape lines at all on the body jamb, it looks just like the factory job, except its nicer 😉
Good idea on taping the Jams…So on the Doors… you cut the paper to the shape of the doors or did you just fold the paper back and then tape?
Looks like I need to take more time taping.
One thing that works good for door openings.
They sell plastic with tape already on it, I get it about 24-30 inches wide,
tape the peimeter and then just bunch the plastic up in the middle with a rubber band.
that also allows re-entry. Makes it easier to tape to. 😉November 17, 2009 at 2:58 am #17019I cant believe this car still sets at my house.. Well today I shot the body in Jet Black single stage made by Moto Storm.. Its called Black Ice.. Its absolutely beautiful.. Its very slick..
I wish it was not dark here and there was some light.. I cant take a pic good enough to show it off in my crappy lit garage..
I was short on some activator by accident,. I only had 1 quart and I needed 2.. so it will be a few days before I can shoot the hood and decklid but thats okay.. I can wait for the proper stuff.. This product was made to be shot over top of the chrome paint they sell at MotoStorm, so it flows out beautifully..
Pics tonight wont do it justice, so I took a video that again wont do it justice.. At least you can poke fun of my accent.. Hell I did not know I sounded this country until I watched the vid  :rofl
Still waiting for the video to upload.. Post it up in a few
November 17, 2009 at 3:11 am #17020Gonna try and put the video link up for ya.. Enjoy my twang :rofl
Note the picture quality is not all that great.. Its from my camera phone.. I tend to be too lazy to get out the regular camera these days.. 1st link takes you to the video.. It was shot in very very low light, so it may be hard to see for some of you 😛 😛 Uh you know who you are old guys :lol1 :lol1 :lol1
