I use onyx too but I only do small repair and use the lph80 but had a kind of off topic question but it applys to onyx users… First off I clean all guns by hand and use 909 for base and can get pretty pricey so was wondering if u can dilute it with distilled water and what ratio if so? Thanks in advance

Thanks man! Probably end up staying where I am. I’m comfortable with everything about onyx for what I’m doing it works great….except reds lol, I’ve switch to red primer and intercoat for all reds and not to bad anymore but before that going over gray prime even with a wet bed was a nightmare!!!! All the mobile guys keep pushing standox and surprised nobody commented on it! Thanks again to everyone!

Have u sprayed both? If so what’s the coverage difference, color match, etc. Which would u rather use?

I buy in 8oz toners and diamont runs twice to three tomes the price!!

Only considering switch based on cost but if solvent takes twice as much to cover andor harder to blend/ match would about even out!? Gotta try and get a pint if common color and give it a shot. Crystal bases are same cost but other are definitely at least half price. One toner with onyx(hb175) $120 for 8 oz and diamont similar toner is $40!!!

Some toners yes others seem about quarter off the price but definitely cheaper! Plus I can get major deals on diamont and onyx!!cheaper then local suppliers cost! So u think it would about even out and stick with onyx?

What about onyx? I’m a mobile tech and run onyx system. What are advantages and disadvantages to onyx. What’s the shelf life and what about mixing? I haven’t had any issues with it so far :S Anyone else using? Color matches seem good and drys fairly quick. Its actually the only system ive ever sprayed so my two cents probably rant worth much! Just wondering why it wasn’t included in this thread?
