Those are pretty ideal spray conditions as the 20-40% humidity. During the summer months at the shop I did this demo at. Humidity was in the 85% range and it took 47 minutes between coats on an allover using Envirobase. Like i said not ideal conditions for anyones paint brand but the nice thing with this is humidity does not affect this product. So for those of us who suffer during the SWAMP ASS months this could change the game.
YES, you could easily do a Allover with the slower resin RM-R09. Keep in mind the conditions of the booth we were in were less than optimal. Also using supplemental air it dries ever faster, Like 45 sec between coats, However they wanted to see it with no supplemental air movement.
If youre drying Autowave at that speed you must have one good drying system….. We have a state of the art Honda dealer with to brand new GFS booth with the quads drying system and they are between 7-8 minutes between coats with autowave
Just a few notes and observations. Obviously I rep for BASF so my opinion may be biased however. The stuff is FAST. Did a demo in a envirobase shop, crossflow booth, PSB silver on a ram 1500. Sweeping the side using the fender as our only blend panel. 68 degrees and 67% humidity. 1 min 21 sec between coats and fully flashed. 2 coats @75% overlap using a Sata 4000 1.4 hvlp 18psi 1 drop coat
@ 19.5 psi and ready for clear. Next up was a Prius 040 white, Fender replacement blent the door and a repair on the corner of the bumper. Used ds40 sealer with white mixed in sealer. 2 coats @75% overlap to full hiding Flash time 3min 35 sec between coats. Some notes
1.4 fluid tip Strongly recommended
Solids are going to dry with a shine, It looks wet but it is dry
Medium wet first coat @75% overlap
18psi on Sata’s
16psi on supernova, lph440, Tekna, and Prolite.a few more
