I’ve did a handfull of jobs using envirobase always using a sealer first and I found it had great color matches, easy to spray, overall nice product.

Im just finishing up a project right now hopefully out of my hair by the weekend, but anyway after that Im goin to start on my homemade booth, A question I have is if my height is only 8 1/2-9ft could this cause me any problems besides the obvious that I wont be getting no lifted trucks in there :lol1 Its just going to be a cross draft and possibly a row of filters in the ceiling and I was thinking of 2 ducts in each corner of the exhaust wall exhausted by 1 tubeaxial fan. Dimensions are 16w x 22L x 8 1/2H

Only clear I’ve used over water is PPG Global never had any problems with greta finish, other than that I use PPG dc4000 works amazing for the enviroment I spray in(over solvents tho)

the jobber I talked to said they just carry the primers and clears but he would put a order for the base clear for me, SPI referred me to this company but I guess I will phone SPI tomorrow and see if I cant just order straight thru them.

JimC which clear are you using, the jobber told me they sold the Universal and the Euro clear, Im liking the sounds of the Euro because of the price and quantity you get from a kit. Anyone have some feedback on the euro clear.

    thanks guys

Well guys I’ve been reading a lot of great reviews on the SPI products and I’m really leaning towards there base clear to shoot when I redo this car and thinking I will still use the SEM concentrate, big reason why is the cost factor, the diamont is really pricey from our jobber and from what I’ve read the SPI will be just as good of quality, only problem is the place I would order from only places orders about once a month and they put a order in recently so if anyone could possibly get me another source to order from that would be great, I live in Canada if that helps 😛

thanks Jim C, wouldnt the final color be different if I would use a red, yellow or an orange, this car has previously been painted and in an accident so Im trying to keep the color as close to the color in the jams as possible although the customer isnt that worried about a perfect match. Jim how many coats do you guess a job like this would take and I was just gonna order a gallon of bc00 and probably a quart of dye. What would I expect to pay for a gallon of bcoo?

My own stupidity for not doing a little research before spraying but like I said its very close to being acceptable thats 3 mid coats and I did a forth coat in the clear just to see if it would lay down more uniform for the hell of it. I didnt realize that you would have to put 7-10 coats, how many coats are you Kevin and IAMRICO putting down to achieve a uniform finish and how much of the binder do you guys figure you would go thru on a job like this?

    Thanks for the input
