November 18, 2012 at 5:17 am #39313
Previously I have used the Nason 496 &497 clears. They seem pretty decent and very inexpensive, and they have given good lasting results. Lesonal Pro Air is awesome, but more of a mid-range product.
X2, 496-00 perfect for small jobs (4-1) it cost me $68.00 a Gallon, 497-00 for full car (3-1) same price, no problem with glossNovember 17, 2012 at 7:14 pm #39282I agree, is dull but not grainy, it will give u the same result as sanding, then u can spray finish it. if ur looking for polished finish ur right Scott.
November 17, 2012 at 6:24 pm #39276Did u know that nail polish remover and acetone are one and the same?, for what u pay on the polish remover you can get a 1/4 of acetone, it will do the same work
November 17, 2012 at 6:14 pm #39275You can try the service of a blasting company that uses “baking soda blasting” for about $25.00 per wheel, that what it cost in my area, it is good stuff, it will leave the wheel like new, then u can finish it.
November 16, 2012 at 7:39 am #39252Sorry if I don’t agree with ur idea, it sounded kind of selfish to me, if u don’t like a question, don’t answer it, just that simple. Must people r not as intelligent and God gifted as u, it’s not their right to b ignorant? like me for instance, I wish i could write as elocuente as u, unfortunately God did not give the gift, for that “May God Bless You. I have learned a lot in my brief passing by in this forum, I am grateful to all that contributed and wasted ur time in my education as an apprentice in the art of car painting but I do not think is right to keep any body out for the simple fact of their ignorance.
November 15, 2012 at 4:47 am #39219X2, I have used Nason 496-00 in the past with excellent results, never had a cracking problem
November 14, 2012 at 4:48 am #39172Thanks Scott, it brings back some good old memories, excellent work by the-way.
November 8, 2012 at 8:03 am #38982Just let it slide, pay no mind to it, just do your job and when the opportunity arrives just leave to better pastures. It’s not worth the head ache.
Good luckOctober 14, 2012 at 5:49 am #38608Andy keep your head up, 99% of the time change is for the better. Good luck and God Bless>
September 10, 2012 at 6:26 am #38244
These guys have some good points.
Also, the Nason base requires a specific hardener too, this is NOT optional
Ben you’ll b surprised how many “painters” here in South Florida don’t even know about the hardener. You are so right!!!
September 7, 2012 at 2:04 am #38222Well I agree, assuming the base is well prepared, do it wrong at the beginning and you will need 5 gallons either Britt or USA before you can hide the defects, once again, I might be wrong
September 6, 2012 at 3:54 am #38202It looks to me like a combination of poor preparation and bad block sanding. Block sanding must be done with a mist of contrasting color over the primer to see what you are doing. I might be wrong
