June 14, 2010 at 9:49 pm #21861Thanks, the PPG instructor said not to use it at all. Just spray 2K HB over the body filler, for the local painters it’s to expensive and take to long time… Anyway any shrinkage wont show up as the drivers here always use a dirty rag and no water to whip dust of so the new paint get full of scratches in no time.
May 22, 2010 at 4:34 pm #21457The stain is from my mechanic, I can’t se any place were it could have gone underneath. I will have the area sandblasted and see if I can fins something.
May 16, 2010 at 3:12 am #21288The sheet metal guys asked $80 and the painter $120… It actually came out pretty good, some small hardly visible scratches and a single run that they sanded out this morning. I had to leave early so I never saw it outside in the sun. I never seen them put basecoat over filler before, you guys think it will stick? For the masking, there is nobody selling emblem glue or tape here and the numberplates are riveted in place so it’s too much work for them to remove and replace the rivets. As you can see they don’t have any real tools themself. I let the painter use my old W400 he didn’t even had a gun himself… He was complaining that it was using a lot of materials but he didn’t try to adjust anything. Next week there will come a PPG rep to hold some training courses so that will be good.

December 10, 2009 at 4:04 am #17690OK I will try to take a better picture tomorrow outside. I can’t feel anything when I touch the area so it’s not pitted.
