cough cough hack hack:laugh: probably won’t matter as the insides don’t see any sun or road hazards. alot of shops i know just scuff and shoot the color. I usually seal because the new sealers can be shot over unsanded ecoat and who likes scuffing the inside of parts. I do however hit them quick still with a scuff pad but I don’t go crazy.

glaso rep stopped by today. Nice guy. knows his stuff. they are really pushing waterborne but that ain’t happening. he’s gonna set me up with a gallon of silver and the 450 clear for this jeep I have to paint. He was toughting the 255 clear but we wwnt with the 450. he says it lays out a little easier than the 255. the 255 is thicker he says and would work real nice with an rp. since i just have an nr2000 he thinks the 450 will be nicer to spray.we’ll see how this goes. I think their pricing on other supplies is gonna be more reasonable as well. hes checking a price on an rp for me. already got one from my current jobber so i will be able to compare

any word on this yet. Ihad my rep check em out for pricing. He said $47 for a box of 24 liners same size as the 3m 16000. About the same price as the 3m stuff. I thought they were going to be a little less expensive

the problem with the screaming eagle and special edition harleys is they don’t usually release the formula. they do that so people can’t just orderup some paint and make their bike look like a factory custom. harley wants you to spend the coin for the bike. These are the colors offered on the 08 screaming eagle ultra
The Screamin’ Eagle Ultra will be offered in three exclusive color combinations: 105th Anniversary Crystal Copper and Black Onyx, Copper Canyon and Stardust Silver, and White Frost and Silver Mist. The 105th Anniversary serialized limited-edition model also features exclusive medallions, badges and wrap-around Tour Pak. The vented lower fairings and inner fairing and switch panel are color-matched to the selected paint scheme. A Harley-Davidson Smart Security System with Smart Siren, an indoor storage cover with CVO logo, and a commemorative CVO key in a presentation box are also included
I think White frost is the color gin is looking for. Not likely any of the color codes we found. but if it is hopefully she will let us know

here is the ppg # for white gold #912759 . but my guess is that is the color you painted the trailer.

looking on harleys web site they offer a White Frost for the 08 scraming eagle ultra. Looks like its a new color. Can’t find the formula anywhere. Your best bet is to have the color scanned and go from there. Sorry I could be any more help. I will keep checking though

do you know the name of the color. Sometimes with the special edition harleys they won’t release the paint codes. But get me the name and I will see if I can look it up

are you sure the primer just started lifting off or did they bump something. it could also be that you trapped some solvents or to much ap ended up on those corners. with ap more is not better. tough to say without actually being able to see the problem
The sem primer is a 1k product but I used it to fill all the textured plastic on my truck and it never shrank. It just really is a bear to sand.

I always tried to be loyal as I know my jobber doesn’t have the best prices on everything (who’s does) but they were always fair. some things cost a little more some thing cost a little less. but they used to be a family owned store then 4 month ago they sold out to a larger chain. since then they prices have seemed to have gone up. o well. I was checking out that e store and it seems they onl;y thing that is really a good deal is the 3m pps. everything else is in line or just way out there. usc 18″ masking paper is double of what my jobber sold it to me for.

ya the family thing is always touchy. parents are always trying to help out their kids. some just don’t let them grow up on their own. I work in a family business and in 2000 I left due to the family conflicts. I eventually came back 5 years later but being out on my own taught me a lot that most people don’t learn when they are raised in that family business and don’t know anything else

are you saying you painted it 2 months ago and it is lifting now?
I painted all the texture peices on my 03 silverado. I scuffed with a grey scuff pad then used sem adhesion promoter and primed with sem flexable primer surfacer. sanded and painted. 4 years later the only problem i had was on the lower valance where I ran it into a rock.
