I usually scuf em up with a scotch pad first then spray the adhesion promoter. likely if its lifting on the edges only they weren’t cleaned properly. make sure you clean the edges and onto the underside good
July 16, 2008 at 12:52 am #10954Ya I know. Supossed to be $99 and I get 10% off when I pay my bill so about $90. I complained the last batch they sent and they said they fixed the pricing in the system. did’nt look fixed when I got my next batch in:angry:
No need to remind me on how much my rectum is getting torn up:(July 15, 2008 at 1:04 am #10945it says free shipping on orders over $250.00
hell $82.oo for 3m pps lids and liners sure beats the $111 my jobber porks me even after my discount it still is cheaperJust wonder about their serviceJuly 12, 2008 at 7:23 am #10932love to see them companies here get with the program and hike rates up like that. But reguardless what they are paying you need to determine what rate you need to work at to make a fair profit. hopefully it is higher than what the insurance co are paying but if not it shouldn’t really matter. Charge your rate to the customer reguardless of what the insurance is paying
July 11, 2008 at 3:49 am #10916looks good there jimmo. i always wanted to try the uv primer but for 1500 for a lamp I havn’t wanted to try it that bad:( do you seal all the spots you do with the uv. I could se that being a problem on small repairs. I was never a fan of spot sealing. especially on metallics
July 4, 2008 at 7:48 am #10891hey Jim,
Nothing wrong with being serious. ABOL doen’t have to be the only place people can get serious info. Thats why ther are diff catagories in the forum section. Areas for serious questions and answers, and areas for fun. We are all friends here and if friends can’t tell it like it is sometimes then their not really friends. I for one enjoy your posts and appreiciate the knowledge that you bring regaurding matters such as these. so don’t be afraid to share your knowledge on this forum as well. We still may think your the crazy bastard from ohio but what can you expect when you live in the home state of Progressive:lol:July 3, 2008 at 4:39 am #10884make sure he has a letter from them stating why they are denying that part of the damage so he has something to submit to the doi along with the proof he already provided the ins co.
July 3, 2008 at 4:12 am #10882what state are you in and what type of info are you looking for exactly? Sometimes you just have to do the research
July 3, 2008 at 4:11 am #10881do you have photos of the work you did and invoice showing the date the cust picked up the car. also does the customer have photos of the area his car was after the storm that would show debris was scattered around that would cause the stone chips. Obviously hail damage and stone chips are 2 seperate types of damage. the insurance company is assuming the stone damages were a result of normal driving. if the customer can show the vehicle was just refinished and the area his car was in had flying debris during the storm he has a shot at convincing the insurance company all the damage occured during one incident. if they still won’t agree with proof then you can assist in filing a complaint with the insurance dept or he can hire an atty but thats an expensive option. also if he is having you do the repairs the insurance co. cannot force you to do pdr.
good luckJuly 1, 2008 at 8:32 am #10870Recoating the tank after sanding with 600 produced a nice smooth finish. I like the way it layed out. also sanded and buffed a few nibs and the ridge from the srtipe. got to it about 20 min after spraying. I used 2500 and it buffed out nice with my mini polisher and a foam pad using presta light compound. didn’t seem to leave any swirls nor did it leave scratches when wiping the residue off like a lot of fresh paints do.
July 1, 2008 at 5:22 am #10868If my little helper did’nt bag work at noon on saturday I coould have had him sand it right away but no I was here till seven he left at noon. The rear fairing was even harder to sand today than the tank was on saturday but he did that one:laugh: .
