Mechanics lien that’s how
If he doesn’t pay I will auction it off!

Well I got the rest of the remaining old rotted floor out of the trunk yesturday, Now it looks like I have some patching to do before I can put the new floor in it.
The new floor isn’t done being Sand blasted yet any way.
My Partner Skip should have that finished up about the time I start welding in the Patches.

Still dont know what I am going to do about the rocker panels or the floor’s up front it will be interesting though.

By the way any one ever replaced the rocker panels on one of these?
I have never done one yet any way I know the pinch welds at the bottom need to come out but how is it held in there at the top? I know they are spot welded but I cant find them.
Buy a non vinyl top donor for 200 bucks and hack the roof off of that…
I know, I know I always have a problem with always doing things right. 😉

I get too tired of fixing stuff that hacks feel the need to destroy. 😆

Well that would be the easy and fast way out anyways…
You could always weld a hundred and thirty patches into it.

I mean whatever works for you.
Well a another roof is kinda out of the question now days as these things are getting hard to find!!!!!!
And when you do its on the other side of the country and shipping is prohibitive!!!!!!!!!!!!
Like I said car ain’t worth much.

What do you guy’s think about the Lead idea?

March 12, 2009 at 7:16 pm #13292

I Thought of that and I am going to put another Vinyl roof cover on it too any way and that will cover a lot of sin’s.

I also thought about spot welding in patches to the back side and then trying my hand at Leading over it, what do you guy’s think about that idea? sure way of getting practice with Lead and a good solid repair too. (I think?)

I just wanted to get every one’s opinions on it before I go a head and chose a way to proceed.
One big thing is cost need to keep it down it’s my kids car, and I dont want to spend squat on it the dang thing isn’t worth very much I think nice ones are going for 4-6 grand right now tops for a sport BB might be around 12 for an original 440 car with the buckets and console. I have one of those too 👿 he wants it bad!
But he is very happy I am working on this one now, and very anxious to get in and drive around with it.

I guess it was sitting a little too close to my Sandblasting area, I already have that fender being worked out.
Its getting close now I will get a couple shots of it today when I get back from Vegas.

Ya I like stock parts for hi performance use.
When I was a lot younger I used to do a lot of street racing and while most guy’s were buying what they seen or read about in magazines I was kicking there buts buy just buying stuff that worked from the Dealer for racing, Weather it was Chevy or Dodge.

This thing is going to be a shop side project in between real projects.

Hey Jack what two steps did I use to do it?

I was just curious if any one used the whole system and how good it really was when used as a complete system as I am impresses with the results with just useing the two steps I did well 3 if you include the wool pad.

March 11, 2009 at 10:42 pm #13258

So far been able to do this what I have of the system

I wanna try the full on deal though Its has a few more steps to it that I haven’t been able to purchase yet.
Very few use the whole system as it was designed to be used from what I am finding out, I think it will be an easy to use system once you have all the products for a show winning finish though.

Boy did we make a mess of the car with this stuff, of course every one had to try it even the owner who has never been able to polish before without buffing threw the clear or burning it. Simple and easy to use, Even for me a Wool lover.
I always hated foam before trying this stuff.
