That’s nothing I need to post some pics of a 62 Studebaker I have to finish up.
Lost all my pics of it in my lap top will try to take some today and post them up latter. What truly amazes me is how fast you guys turn projects what takes me forever you guys do in days.
Thanks for the tips guy’s this is a good thread!
Got any more?
I am using a Millermatic 251 with .023 wire gas about 75-80% argon
Had problems welding stuff on that Intrepid metal, setting’s per Miller suggested chart, Turned down amps and speed no help spot welds would burn threw very easy. :huh:Should have tried a few Beads first didn’t, went right to spot welds  results were less than stellar to say the least. 🙁
Way to cool stuff the BM
I would have loved to get into that one with you as it was being rebuilt, I bet the door issue was a bear too!As far as there quality goes well look at the time they were being built and what was available to them, Fiberglass itself was a new thing! I am really surprised Packard didn’t have them put one of there engines in them for racing! after all the thing was being built to compete with the Vets for sales at the time. If they had used a Big Packard things just may have swayed the other way.
Yes I did notice the Door handles, I wondered about that.
I like the modified one its cool, better that it was rebuilt and modified than parted out.
There were only 435 of these built and 6 Pre-production models.
I wonder if that yellow one is one of the 6 preproduction models? Having that diffrent front grill is a REAL interesting. as are the hood scoop and the fender mounted mirror’s Probably ONE of ONE or is it one of None?
Way too cool
Also How the heck did you get the other one there TOO?
Not one BUT TWO??? Man small world isnt it?
I like the Yellow ones front grill although the White ones grill is so extreamly unique It makes the car.Yes they are ugly by the way as you said but they are way cool!!! They grow on you
MAN you are so lucky to have worked on one of those!
My Old Man wanted one of those soooo bad he could taste it!
Those are so cool with the way the doors work way cool Truly way ahead of its time!Although I always felt that the grill area needed something more its still a cool car,
I believe this car Was car was sold a few years ago? at a Kruse or Barret Jackson auction You should look it up! It went for a ridiculous amount of money. I believe it was this car any way there were not many of these built.
I am Pretty sure it was BJ it made the cover of there Flyer I think too could have been Kruze though I get Flyer’s from both.
If you ever buy or sell at one of there auctions you get stuff from them for life - AuthorPosts
