Attachments:March 19, 2010 at 6:35 am #20232The Devilbiss “plus” was so good at the base coat I almost thought about using it to spray the clear tonight. I am sooo glad I decided against that and loaded up the new WS400!!!! :cheer:
It was my first time to even use the thing and I had it laying the clear down like glass. It is super lightweight and it sprays so soft. Compared to my devil “plus”. The “plus” is nice, no doubt, but the WS400 is just super quiet and soft. I held out about 8″ from the panel though. Dupont G2-7779 was the clear. I used 29 PSI. One piece of dirt to polish out. If that little SOB had not ended up in there, it would be go to go as is.
I have got to get another WS400 for base. These are the poop. Anyone on the fence might give this one a shot.
March 17, 2010 at 7:21 am #20206My buddies are all yakkin how good the Montana primers are. Good price and great quality. I hear it almost every time I talk to them.
The SPI guys are good folks too. So I hear, but I have no experience with the primers myself. I know of SPI through a different forum. Never heard anything negative.
March 17, 2010 at 7:04 am #20202Ok, I did not end up with the LS400, but did get the WS400/supernova. All I can say is WOW! This is a kickin good looking gun. Super light too.
The WS400 comes in 4 flavors. 1.3 clear and base and a 1.4 clear and base. I got the 1.4 clear gun.I hope to blow some chromaclear through it tomorrow.
I actually got 3 new guns this month. A PRI devilbiss gun, a GFG “Plus” devilbiss and this killer WS400. I swear the lightweight of the Iwata is insane compared to the devilbiss guns. I shot some chromabase today and yesterday with the “plus”. You have to use the 1.4 FN with it or sucks with chromabase. I was ready to throw the thing out yesterday, but today when I screwed in the 1.4, life got mucho better. It laid the base out like glass. Now I am wondering what a LS400 would have done :cheer:
