    How am I going to explain to the wife I need carpet for the booth,not the living room?

    Put enough base color to cover the primer /sealer. Not just 2-3 because the directions say to.
    As Far as cleacoat. Dont try to spray it like glass. It is easier to polish a little orange peel that it is to remove runs.
    Take you time . You will do fine.

    I use the 8:1 over reduced DC5335 clear under Onyx. No problems.

    Why the switch from Onyx?
    I thought you had it dialed in pretty good.
    I would like to try Dupont. My buddy sprays it and loves it.

    I have used Transtar Motor City Clear. $55 for a sprayable gallon. Have only used it on small stuff.
    Looks decent when it leaves. Dont know how it holds up long term.
