That’s the thing I have no one working just me and its never wrapped its just set in 2nd shelf on trolly cable sprawled all over shelf to avoid kinking its used daily. After I got it replaced last time I blamed the fact there is no rubber sheath where the wire comes out of hard plastic plug and all the moving/sanding it just broke inside with no support so on 2nd one I got some rubberised tape and mad my own support sheath but alas no good same thing same place :deadhorse ah well least they are replacing it with improved item :kofee
They are great little sanders so quiet over air there is only 3 speeds on the 3m I never used the mirka it was what I was going to get but supplier landed with the 3m to try.
November 6, 2013 at 5:32 pm #45322Just a quick update on these according to 3m rep 3m are now aware of a manufacturing fault with the leads and are issuing a more robust item as replacement.
November 6, 2013 at 1:16 pm #45321I was thinking had to be more than me  Its not like I’ve been rough with them i looked after them well the transformer sits on a trolly which is wheeled beside what ever is to be sanded no wires stretched neither have ever been dropped or knocked and I’m only a one man band so no one else to have abused it. A bit of time with a microfibre cloth and blowgun and it would look like new very disappointed with the apparent quality (or lack off) for the price.
And the mirka broke too that’s what I was thinking to replace this with :compsmash how long did it last 2months or just over it is 3m’s record.
November 2, 2013 at 1:31 pm #45193That’s a nice tidy looking set up you guys have there :cheers
Hopefully I can get something similar set up in new year in talks about a Debeer kit at min.
Like the sign too love these old signs I seen a guy on Facebook who set up his own first shop he couldn’t get old style signs so he used an overhead projector to beam outline onto the wall then hand painted them on looks class but woulda took some timeOctober 8, 2013 at 1:47 am #44834Pics of your arches might help. If your a competent welder then decent quality arch repairs are not to bad to fit you may need to carry out repairs to the inner arch aswell when outer has been cut off.
October 7, 2013 at 3:59 pm #44828Here’s the link he sent me I never bought them yet but I will at some stage in the future (heater just lay down so thats £500 away this month already it just couldnt wait till end of winter lol). Strange things you need to keep them submerged in water when not in use.

October 7, 2013 at 12:09 pm #44825Yep I do apply tape flat and cut too but tape does not always stick to certain rubbers no matter how clean etc and this stuff sounds good for those problem areas.
Kent ind used to have reps out years ago 25+ I’d say I mind dad used their stuff a lot I was going to say Andy I seen they do a stone for dirt nibs and runs as mentioned in another thread but I seen u got the meguirs stuff a guy on fbook swore by the Kent set.
Best of luck to you and your family Carl.
October 6, 2013 at 3:02 pm #44810
We sometimes use japan tape, dont know why its called that but hey ho.its quite thin and sticks like shit to a blanket,it is used to mask up the rubber seal around petrol filler caps where normal tape wont stick.
Where do u get that at Carl? I’ve yet to find a tape that sticks well enough on some of those rubber curves been using 3m green with some decent results
