You’re probably aware of the procedures I thought I,d post it just in case.

Why not try emailing lotus for repair times?

Probably just as handy to do so you could do a blend on a swage line with fade out but if you never done it b4 best to just re clear whole panel.

It is possible to do localised repair probably even easier to get really good blend on your fresh clear from before using fade out and let go rock hard before you polish the blend but I think there is nack to it and is best practiced on other older cars/vans.

That’s a rather retro solution bill lol been there done that on old cars heading to auction back in the day

I’ve used it on and off over the years sometimes I found it worked others not prob down to different products/brands I think on some clears it gave me a bit off peel effect and I used to add a little reducer to counter it other people thought the same at the time I do know guy who uses it all the time year round he thinks its great although I’ve seen it die back a bit but that could be down to his upol clear and drying much too quickly in the warmer temps.

Glasurit do an accelerator they sell it with 923-888 clear guy was raving about it to me other week both clear and accelerator which he used in a range off products supplier was telling me that the debeer rep told him he has seen it used with one of their clears to great effect

I,d get some try it on couple small/older things first its not that expensive for rocket.

I’m not familiar with car but are you sure it’s not done with matt/flat clear? I can’t see them just leaving a bumper in base

Too true John I’ve discovered that myself :cheers

Just give them a a light rub to flatten them out before you rebase and maybe give that area a light coat or two let dry well before going over all again.
If I’m a little unsure or just to be safe I would look through any paint in the cupboard for a similar colour to spray on first to colour the primer before using proper colour.

One of the most annoying things somebody watching you work drives me :cens nuts I’ve told people to get te :cens k outa my sight before now :chair

It will prob help the guys answer you better if you stick up couple of pics.
But my gut would say flatten and redo would prob be best.

Farecla g3 was the standard back in the day still a good enough product apart from the residue as said if it sparked or got on black plastics u needed to get it cleaned before it was dry Cus that stuff was a bitch to clean.
For hard clears they do g6 rapid I think something similar to 3m fast cut/+

I rarely use many of there products now pretty much just stick with 3m bit easier got here too because farecla rep is a tool and has been raced from just about everywhere for being to pushy when comes to selling.
I have never had to reclear headlights to be honest.

I sand all the old coating off first with 600, then 800, 1000 and finally 1500 before polishing back to a shine using your buffer and compound like farecla or 3m.

I do all the sanding with a palm DA, probably only takes 10 minutes per headlight tops.

Ive had them done like this on my own car for the past year and they havnt lost their shine or anything yet and if they do I will probably just break out the DA and buffer again. At least they wont stone chip like clear might?
This is all I’ve ever done as well.
