Mixing lids yes, if you can get them, or perhaps something similiar, without having to buy the whole set up?

Called at three paint supply places this week and they just stared at me  Local bodyshops seem reluctant to tell me where they get any of thier stuff too
I have a Seetal Low Bake (natural gas fired) downdraft spray booth (7 metres x 4 metres) that I rent out in 4 hour blocks.

Am located in Moorabbin, Melbourne, Australia.

The booth is available after hours and on weekends.
Ha, thanks for the offer, thats good to know 🙂

I think a network of places to rent out would be a good idea as previously sugggested.
Not much help mate, but here goes:

I’ve been looking into this myself as I do a lot of evening and weekend work, but can’t use the facilities at my workplace so I’m spraying in a mates workshop. It’s dirty, dusty and everything is covered in oil and grease, so not really ideal for spraying!! For bigger jobs I sheet up the floor which helps keep the dust down, but drying the paint is a different matter, especially water borne basecoat.

I’ve tried to find a booth to rent myself from time to time, but haven’t really had much luck. I’ve managed to do a one-off deal with a friend of a friend for an upcoming full respray, but nothing permanent. Would be great if there was some kind of network around, of people willing to rent out spare booth time, but then I’m sure most places would see it as doing their business out of money, as they could charge more for painting the job themselves.

Sorry I can’t be of much help, but if I can manage under the conditions below, then maybe your garage isn’t so bad!

    Thanks for the reply Andy!

Blimey I would be over the moon with a workspace like that!

How do you go about drying the paint and getting that place up to any kind of temperature? I struggle in my small garage come workshop never mind a space that big. I have lots of problems with orange peel in this colder weather.

I don’t have space to spray anything larger than say two bumpers at a time so any work I do is outside and exposed to the elements, not good for fresh paint either. I’ve been hunting high and low for a workshop, garage, booth etc that can be rented but everything is waay out of my price range. With no income except these odd jobs I get its difficult for me to afford anywhere for long enough.

I’m wondering about building some temporary booth around the car where it stands in the garden but all attempts have failed. Somewhere dry, warm and with space to work would be brill as it is starting to rust. I thought it worth asking if renting a booth is possible, I guess not unless you know someone then hey.

    Thanks Andy.
