May 21, 2010 at 4:37 pm #214101)Did you buy the clear recently or has it been sitting around in the shed for awhile??
2)Is it dull as in the color of it is dull, or dull as in it laid grainy? (Gritty) Because clear you want to lay it wet, basically how you want the final result to look. There’s a very fine line between not enough, and too much
3)could be quite a bit of reasons. maybe it dried too quickly. did you use the correct reducer and hardener for the temperature? did you wait for the proper flash time between coats? how did it look as soon as you were done? it shouild not change very much at all from the time you applied it to the time it dries
1)the clear was bought recently 2days before i sprayed it.
2)there is a shine off it very close, i guess it would be gritty/orange pealy.here’s a silly question but what is a good rule of thumb in regerds to knowing when the right amount of clear is on?
3)reducer and hardener instructions were followed to the exact amount.it says between 10&15 mins between coats and i followed that guideline.it looked good just not as much of a shine off it as i thought it would be.
i spoke to a few people yesterday, they said that they encountered the same issue and when they gave it another shot of clear a few days later it was perfect…
