    So, how do you tape it up like that? Back tape it, then cut the paper to fit?

    I get my LPH-400 soon and I can’t wait. It’s got a 1.3 and 1.4 tip. We shoot mostly Limco 4100 and 4500 clear.

    So, what’s the plan? DA it out and maybe a little glaze, prime and paint entire side. Maybe needs more, I can’t tell how deep the gouge is. Are you going to blend the hood or not quite that high?

    Well, the pla-stic is kinda a moot point considering it was in the trash can the second time I painted the scoop. It’s either the plastic itself, the prep procedure or the base/clear because those are the things that stayed a constant both times. I’d really also rule out flash times and actual painting procedure. I paint 2-4 cars a day and have yet to have an issue with anything else. Not that I’m immune from mistakes, it’s just that the procedure was the same on the scoop as on everything else.

    Flash times were 5-10 min with the base and whatever the can says for the primer. I have a kitchen timer I use. It was not solvent pop I’m sure.

    Hey Jimmo, glad you told me about the dh b/c I almost used the 42. If I had used the polyuroxy both times I might feel like it may be the culprit.

    The Ferrari just had a nice scratch on the quarter panel. The Polyuroxy is an extra ingrediant that’s added to R-M epoxy primer. I can’t really tell you what it does or I’d have to kill you…lol j/k I don’t know what it does. You can mix the epoxy with or without it though.

    What about spraying candies? Which cap works best for that?

    Same problem I have. I am just a hobbyist I guess. I work at a bodyshop on my days off of my full time job and I also have a little side business in which I repair/repaint motorcycles; “crotchrockets” as some call them. If I have a job to do back to factory I will have to buy from the rip-off formerly mentioned as color rite. But, beware, their paint is extremely thin when mixed like they call for it. It doesn’t cover very good so a ground coat of a similar color will help a lot.

    I have found that HOK BC-25 black is a perfect match to Honda’s black. IDK about other manufacturers though. I mainly do Honda’s b/c as you can see all this along with 5-year old twin boys I don’t have much time. So, I stick to one manufacturer to keep it simple and slow for me. I have ‘panel painted’ several black fairings and have NEVER had a complaint on the match.

    I have a site with some pics. I don’t do too much crazy stuff, but I’ve only been at it for 3 years and most of my business is internet based.
