    Hey a1 handy,

I’m based in Queenland Australia , working on a 33 Ford 5 window coupe , my customer just spent $2600 for all the materials to do a bare metal paintjob on this car.

I think your guy is really getting his monies worth for $1500 if that includes labor and material ( does the customer want you to work for a $1 an hour !!)

Hope you can sort it all out with him.

    Cheers

    Thanks Jayson M ,

I’ve purchased a few products from a company in Santa Barbera TCP Global.
They sell the Debilviss range I’ll check out the price.
I also found a coulpe of videos on the Anest Iwata guns they look real nice but I think they will cost more than the Tekna.

Thanks for the advise on the black paint, the customer has already purchased the PPG black base coat and clear top coat.

I have been told that I should be able to get a nice glassy finish by laying down the black base then tack clothing and 2 coats of clear , let it sit for a day or 2 wet sand the clear with 1200 and give it a flow coat or 2.

My PPG rep suggested laying down the black base then 4 to 5 coats of clear let it sit for a few days , then wet sand with Mirka p 2000 Abralon follwed by Mirka p 4000 Abralon then buff .

It sound like about 40 to 60 hours work to doulbe wet sand and 3 stage buff the paintwork .

What do you think would work best using the PPG Products that my guy has supplied.
