Is it possible that maybe your scale isn’t calibrated or something, and your colors are so far off, that no matter what technique you use, it’s causing a halo?
I currently use Lesonal SB, which is a similar system. The only time i’ve ever had blending issues is if the color is just that far off.
Are you making spray out panels? checking the color? Or just pretty much mixing and squirting?
Also, what color deck do you have? Because if you’re using the computer generated printed one, it sucks, and chances are, if you’re checking color chips, you’re not getting the actual color that shows on the chip.
Good luckP.S. I agree with Jay as well, that adding a little extra reducer for the blend can help. Also, how are you preparing the panel? What are you wetsanding the blend panel with?

I just noticed one thing about the gun and maybe it isn’t a big deal, but with the canister sitting on top, can’t it be a little tough if you need to get an a hard to reach area, like inside a quarter or something like that.
February 2, 2013 at 7:35 am #40951
very nice. did you use the sem ezcoat on that wheelhouse
Yep ding, I think that stuff is the greatest idea. Makes life easy. The colors match pretty good too, that one is light green. Which wasn’t one of the original colors when it came out, think they recentlt added it.
Sounds great. I’d like to see pics of that back end going on all together.
Did I mention that you are making it look way too easy
Thank you 🙂 I will keep them coming. Hope to hang the rear tomorrow.
February 2, 2013 at 2:54 am #40929more updates. Wheel well welded and refinished. Post prepared for new skin. Inside of new clip all cleaned and refinished(no pic of that). Chassis rails welded.

Plus, the rails have a self centering cone on them that slide in to the subframe – makes changing the rail very simple, so basically I’m changing the both chassis rails. I also took the outer wheel house from the black clip and am putting it on my car – left side only, my right is perfect.
Once the two rails and left outer wheel house are all welded up and refinished (probably today), I’m going to slide the complete outer skins on to the car one shot. Two quarter panels, left side rocker outer cover, floor, rear body, and part of the upper deck that goes under the rear windshield.
February 1, 2013 at 4:47 am #40901here’s some updated pics. By the way, I want to know who the guy is who is responsible for squirting the expanding foam in these cars. I want to personally put the nozzle down his throat and watch his head expload

People are having great results tinting lights with window film.
There are also companies that make aerosols designed specifically for tinting lights, some of them work better than others, but it’s always an option if using your water isn’t.January 9, 2013 at 5:56 am #40231I don’t know what your circumstances are or what kind of materials you use, but I know as a favor to a friend, I wouldn’t touch it for less than 2500.
December 18, 2012 at 3:15 am #39975This may be a stupid idea, but maybe not. If you goto home depot and buy a small panel of like copper ceiling panels for example..you can take it to yout jobber and let him take a picture of it and generate a forumula.
December 16, 2012 at 2:13 am #39962

Stay away from the chinese booths. I dont think they actually have the proper ETL listings. it’ll be a nightmare getting one up to code to pass inspection. I have a Garmat 3000 27′ long. dual skin with 1.5mil BTU air makeup. Mine is also on a raised basement instead of a dug pit. Installed with dry chem fire suppression was just over 55k. they wanted around 4-5 more more the accudraft. things are tight nowadays and you can likely work them some and get a real good deal. The FutureCure is manufactured about 45 minutes away from me. decent quality but still not up to par with garmat/gfs/accuspray and not any cheaper in price either
I know of a chinese booth that was purchased In Calgary a little while ago. It had the ETL sticker and paper work with it. Upon inspection it was determined that these were forgeries and the booth was not actually certified. The booth wound up being shipped back to the supplier after nearly a year of endless hassle between the shop, booth supplier and city inspectors.
I agree with Ding, don’t waste your time with that garbage. Stick with the American or European booths
Well there are about 6 shops I know of in my area that used the chinese booth. It is certified and gets inspected no problem. The problem is, it’s only a few thousand less. When you’re already spending this much money, I’d rather get the booth made in europe. To top it off, i’m not wild about the salesman. I’m 99% I will end up going with accudraft.
December 16, 2012 at 2:11 am #39961
Accudraft builds one of the nicest booths available today. I have sprayed in a “Titan”, and in the “Italia” model, and they were both fantastic. Very smooth air flow (very clean work/low turbulence), easy to maintain, and extremely reliable. Garmat is very well known, but their booths are notoriously turbulent, and no matter how meticulous the painter is, it just seems that you get a bit more dirt in all of the Garmat booths I have been in. My father bought their “top of the line” booth a few years back for his new shop, and was severely disappointed with the performance and reliability after spending almost 90K on the whole package. A lesser known booth manufacturer that builds great booths at a significant discount to the “big name” companies, is Americure. Americure is based out of Arizona, and in Phoenix, you will see quite a few shops with their booths. They are EXTREMELY nice for the money, and they offer some custom options that you wont see anywhere else. GOOD LUCK!
I’ve seen americure, and they are significantly less money. The problem is im 99% sure they’re booths don’t have the certification necessary for NYC. There may be one model that is, but I don’t believe it has heat.
