Standox Premium Clear ,Spies 8180ms , RM DC5300, Limco 4100(using ur recducers from diamont) , Dupont 7900s , Nason 465(using spies or standox reducer) I use PPG Concept 2021 . All of these can produce awesome jobs but I can’t pick a favorite one

I had a demo with Onyx HD and the DS40 is an awesome sealer.

DP31. I use it down here in Florida. Why does it take so long to fully dry? Big pain in the butt to sand. Sometimes the tack rag will move it. But it does lay down like clear.

I love using scuff stuff on bumpers but I always use the grey pad. Guess I should try the red pad but isnt that like 320-400 grit?

Are you using onyx or diamont?
If it is too blue, remix and leave out some of the blue toner. You will create more damage adding silver too it rather than leaving out some of the color when mixing.

If it needs to be grayer, look at the flop control toner. You will have to mud it up a little with possible black or white or a dirty toner in the mix.
Very good advice :agree

Yeah It sounds like either it has too much blue in it or the metallic isnt coarse enough on the side tone so its making the hue(blue) come out more. You could have your paint supplier to take a picture of it with a spectrometer :deadhorse

how does the tekna compare to the sata

    April 20, 2011 at 8:07 am #30403

well if it needs to be grayer and more silver add the right silver(coarse or fine). Silver will give it a gray face but some silver have a light side tone and some have a dark side tone

when you try to explain color always refer to face and side tone

so does it need to be grayer face and coarser side tone?

well it turns out its my gun.

I was spraying a lexus 8u9 and the hood was looking nasty. So I switch guns with my buddy(same 1.3 sata nr3000)and the metallics laid down flat

So I took my gun apart and found out that I installed my air ring incorrectly. The marker was at 10 oclock and it needed to be 12 oclock.

Rookie mistake but I’ll see if its back to normal the next metallic hood.
