http://www.i-car.com/pdf/advantage/online/2004/102504b_honda.pdf read the bottom about door beams
get the facts from your dealers, its all in black and white. Not following factory manual is a “business decision” what that means is you are liable for the method you use. I do not know better than the manufacturer how to safely repair collision damage so i do what is recommended exactly what they say. If the manual says to section that frame rail 85mm from this hole using a 16cm sleeve i dont butt weld it in at 75mm.

Intrusion beams are not to be repaired, never, no matter how slight the damage, if the beam is bent the shell is scrap. Could you straighten one and skin a door, yes. However it should not be done. Every manufacturer and technical training organization say the HSS and UHSS steel intrusion beams strength is compromised once bent. As long as were one the skin thing, anybody that sections outer door panels is an idiot and hack, takes longer and makes me sick kinda like the quarter job in the jamb.

Those latches were recalled for doors opening on the highway, maybe you can get a free one.

Jeez i just cant recall the guts of these doors. Maybe unhook all rods-cables from the latch and work it because one slightly tweaked lock rod can frig a door from opening, but im sure you know the obvious fiddling. Does the power open actuator work? I think theres a safety switch that will only allow the door to open if van is in park. Unplug everything and put 12 volts to it. If it still wont open the child lock may be in middle swing requiring a lucky stroke of the ole coat hanger. If it still wont open knock $100 off the price and sell her as a three door before you go mid evil on it.:) Keep us posted because i wont sleep right until i know what the hell is keeping that bitch shut because its unusual that a fella cant get a door latch undone even when smashed big time. Sorry for rambling and i probably am far from sensible at 12:39am on my weeks end but i wish i was there to mess with it. Also theres a gay procedure to reset the door after ya dick with em.

looks like there might be enough lip there to flatten the ends of that valance and reroll them where you want it. the door to quarter gap needs some attention as well doesnt appear even in the pic.

No pity party here, that needs pulled. Let me suggest cross measuring the windshield opening, if it is out of square without correction a new one wont fit. You should also make point to point measurements of the right side door opening for reference. Looks to me the pillar is in and back at the top, but the only way to be certain is to take the measurements. Then correct the damage with what you got around there for tools which i think is gonna be real difficult.. Could you find a friendly slow body shop to hold and pull this for cheap? I just cant fathom shimming the hinge out, slotting holes, and hacking to be honest, in fact i have to be half lit to stomach looking at the many cars destroyed over on the 101. Sorry i take my auto body very seriously.

whats the deal with truck not being rotten to the door handles? you must not use road salt there huh. That old truck is worth good money here, really hard to find in solid condition.

What a shame being that new, hell yes you can save it. Pull floor, drip, hinge pillar at same time, multiple pulls work magic. Straighten the floor, replace the other shit. Piece of cake ready for paint in 2 days, OTD 4 days.
