Use the camera, maybe that will help.

What’s wrong with the match? Too coarse, too fine, etc…….

Go to the nearest Maaco/whatever, ask the painter how much it would take him to come to your shop. Pay him that and call it done.

    Cuz he’s doing something wrong.

Overhead too big, too many re-do’s, not enough work in the shop, etc…….

Yeah, I’ve done a couple in Sikkens Autowave.

Bigest issue is getting the base on even, allowing it to dry and applying thin coats of clear. What I’ve done is put two real thin coats on, allow it to dry overnight, come back and cut it a bit to take out some texture then apply two normal coats of clear and call it done.

If Chuck Norris were a glue he’d be 3M 8115 Panel Bond.
how much better is sikkens superior 250 compared to sikkens hv-lp clear coat?
Define better?

    Better at what?

Conditions play a big part in which gets chosen.

Get an old house furnace and have it pump heated air into the booth, safe, cheap, and easy to get parts for.
Alright good stuff.
I’m looking for some more tips guys, please. I know glass clear is possible because I’ve seen it on a factory Aston Martin in Europe..
More than likely they use a flo coat method.

I’m really anal about orange peel on my cars and this one really isn’t bad at all but I’m on a quest for the perfectly flat paint job and I thought I would be able to do a little better on my first try with this gun.
For my basecoat I used Matrix Systems paint and for my clearcoat I used Refinish Solutions 2.1 VOC urethane clear coat (RSC-320). !
That’s a tall request for the cheapest paint on the market, why 2.1 clear anyway?

Eh cmon. We all know this guy should have gotten a good repair and didn’t. For whatever reason, how they get there really does not matter, but the customer should be satisfied.

I suggest he find a similar car on their lot and show them what he expects the repair to look like.

So if I peel the label off my Superior 250, it’ll say DuPont 72200 on the can? Or will it say CarSystem?
No. It will say Keystone Clear. Manufactured by LKQ Corporation. Relabeled as Akzo Noble
