I tend to get fairly upset when I see any silicone products anywhere near my paint shop. :hunt :chair
Same. we’ve now got a separate shop for valet/detailing πŸ™‚

You cans get body shop safe creams etc, also silicone free products but its replaced with polymers which is the same thing really

Aw that’s a gd idea. I like that. See the problem I have is the freshly painted panel probably won’t last 8/10 weeks. I could leave the paint in the gun ready for the car to come back next week lol over here the roads are to small and the cars are to big ha ha. It’s got to the point that I even no some colors and all the tints in it. Spray it that often. I would love to travel and paint in different shops round to world to learn how things are done different πŸ™‚

I live on an island which is 3miles wide and 26 miles in total around, so the salt air and winds are a big problem lol I couldn’t wait 6-8 weeks to start chancing the customers to come back and reply wax etc, the insurance only give me 0.5 to polish and denib. We don’t even get paid to touch up around the car after the job, I do it for the customer. I’m not worried bout not being paid for something as little as that :rock

How would you guys go round doing a job then polish and wait 6/8 weeks to wax bit odd I say

Hey jim. For me once I’ve painted a car and fit baked it its normally a couple of days before I can get back on it to polish, wax etc as I have to get the other jobs on the go and get the painted as well. Or let the panel side build up the inside of the car if needs be as mists cars you can put the handles in after.
It says on my tds sheet for the clear that after an hour cool down after a full bake I can start to play, polish, rebuild etc,
If you where going to but tapes and stickers or transfors then I try the leave it as long as I can to put them on. But as you know some have to go on before the cars can be built.

I’ve never had any problems from waxing on new paint. I would say bout getting a soft wash shampoo as its designed to not strip the fresh wax or polish

Hmmm looks good, I didn’t now 3m did a kit, but the bottles they show are the ones I have in the big bottles which I’ve brought individualy, I do use a lot of the fast cut green and the blue top anti hologram. The pink top which is a rosa glaze isn’t bad but I have found better ones

    As in ziano z3
    And meg’s ulimate polish glaze

This was finished off with these two products

Hey, do you use 3m finesse. As I’m thinking of getting it also the 3m machine polish I think it’s the baby blue top lid. Yeh the swixvax that I. Getting is for satin/ Matt paint finish. I do like the meg’s I do like the polish and liquid wax. But I have started jousting the compound which I do like πŸ™‚

What’s the 1z polish like. Is it pricey. How goes it go on etc also is it paint shop friendly
Nice work ! ………but damn , you got more different creamΒ΄s than my mother in law uses when she goes out of the house πŸ˜‰ , nice set tho.
Hey thanks mate. I like to mix things up abit. Due to the fact some customers don’t or can’t afford the better waxes etc. I also find some creams don’t work well of some colours.

It all started when I noticed I was spending out more the people could afford so I show and ask what they can afford. Over the the last year I’ve collected most of the creams. I’m getting new swixvax next month can’t wait to try it out

:spraywelc: hey welcome to the site mate. First great to hear you got a pro lite :rock ull do great things with that. There’s loads of great guys on here to help.

Try to post the things your doing mistakes and achievements. As its the best way to learnt. When I first started my mentor said maybe you should use a panel hammer and not a spray gun lol it was a joke that got me driven πŸ™‚
