Not sure about the final bill, and dunno about capping materials. Im just a painter, my dad handles all the ofiice work, and trying to get a strait answer outa him makes me want to shoot myself in the face!

Dont see where it matters much, Gonna have to agree with working that wet edge. Ive sprayed in plenty of down draft booths, and done it either way. Whatevers comfortable for you.

Im a painter so I do all my own prep, paint, buffin etc, anything to do with the paint department. We have 2 bodymen so they handle that and our glass and major mechanical is subbed out.

Most the problems from what Ive been told was from baking it and reflow during the baking process is where the sags and runs come from. If you dont bake it, its just fine (which I cant bake so im golden). I havent had any issues with it at all, and im doing 3-4 cars a day with no runs or sags. I use the dh42 hardner and ur50 reducer. any slower than that and you will run it. either you love it or hate it.

If youve got a bake booth use the Dc5335, its an awesome clear. If you cant bake, dont use it. It takes forever to dry. The Dc92 is a good alternative to the dc5335. I recently started using it and I love it. I would rather use the dc5335, but I dont have a “bake” booth. both great clears imo.:rock

I check every color I mix, but rarely have to do much tinting, and if I do its not much at all. I use diamont and love it. 2-3 coats on most colors, IMO it covers great. :rock

Im gonna agree with ding! Global is super spendy for what it is down here. I like dbc but cant stand the global. I like ppg, but I do prefer basf.

Yup, think i love the dc92. sprays awesome! Not a run or sag one and I painted three cars today. I can see where it can get loose on a guy though. Also junked the dbc500, and now using glasurit 55b-500 color blender. No probs on the blend area as well….So happy!:rock

The Global system sucks for color matching and coverage! The clears are awesome though. The dbc system is great on color matches and coverage, and there clears are great as well! Hate the modeling with dbc. I started mixing my base 2:1 rather than 1:1 which fixed my modeling. Thats a smoking deal on everything though! Wish I could run across deals like that.:rock

Ive heard that about the dc92, Kinda makes me nervous. But I would like to try it. I’ll probably try the 5300 as well. Id like to compare the two side by side.

Thanx for the input guys! Much appreciated. Just thought i’d broaden my input beyond my jobber. Talking to other painters is more helpful than just talking to one person who may not have experienced much of anything in a booth! :cheers

Isnt the 5120 a faster clear more used for jamming parts?
