Thanks guys,we have five single lamps not sure but imagine them to be medium wave but yea its speeding me right up with heat inbetween coats !
In all the time i had it ive not had a redo for coverage issues so they pay for themselves really
The guy that does them uses same bulb as 3m do and he says he can supply bulbs easily so must be ready available ?
Im sure you can get them direct from solux i think it was paul that wrote that on another forum ?
The ebay one i got has been properly soldered so no nasty scotch locks or connectors ! Im sure the bulbs are about £24 in uk and europe ?
Happy new year to all from us in uk !
Wow ben booked up till august ! Thats good job security !
Great bit of kit the ebay sun guns, only pit fall is battery life isnt very long but more than enough for the short times the light is actually on !
We didnt get on with the indassa paper and i found its cut doesnt last long but everyone has there own liking to products !
Not sure if im honest,it was only used if the repair was an awkward shape or hard repair and gave an extra skim kind of thing but i have not used it since around 1992 -1994 so i have no real knowledge of polyester and mainly i can remember that it was no good in cold damp environment as it supposidly drew moisture as it cured so it was allways baked after application in the booth but i work in a cold damp shop with little heat and makeshift booth so i could only use an infra red lamp to bake it ?
Thanks,carl.
It is cold here in uk,not too bad but our shop is not very warm ! Just wanted to know if kinda force drying between coats will cause issues ? Thanks jayson.
Do modern polyesters pull in moisture still when curing ? Do they need baking as soon as sprayed to stop this happening ? Not used it in years so not clued up on it but could see its benefits on some jobs !
I bought a home built sun gun off ebay they used a cheap drill and put the same bulb that the 3m one uses ! Had it about a year its used every day and cost £60 ! Bargain!
I have used lechler water but only on two small jobs as we too dont have a propper spray booth so drying was / is a problem as its a makeshift booth and not completely sealed it does tend to suck dirt in from the odd crack lol, saying that tho I found it dried pretty well on its own but it was warmer then ! I loved it and it matched very well too i think it was fiat cappuccino beige on a fiat 500
Have you tried the octoral water base at all paul ?
A friend who owns a shop on the other side of birmingham to me has just had a waterbased octoral scheme installed and loves it ! Said he wished he had done it years ago !
Cool, will see if i can get one but have used the ws400 clear this week for small bits as a basecoat gun and it was ok
Sorry are they the base and clear nozzles ob and obs ? Didnt know they called that ?
