No but I found the drop down and the advanced search you recommended. Thanks Charlie. Nice Nova.
October 21, 2012 at 5:41 am #38728I’m not talking about a keyboard entry. There’s usually a box separate from the text box to click. Thanks
October 12, 2012 at 1:26 pm #38579I use P.bucket for other sites. However, some allow you to upload directly form your own files and avoid the hosting step altogether. I’ll get them up soon.

Plenty. I have to navigate this site and see what’s required for uploading.
October 11, 2012 at 3:38 pm #38553Sorry for not updating sooner, car was delivered months ago. I’d like to thank everyone for their assistance. It came out better the second time using 2021 even though it was still Lucifer’s weather when I shot it. I have not shot 2021 daily in 15 years and even though I remembered things, it reminded me about it’s surface tension properties. Fortunately, nothing really bad happened. It’s not like the Euroclears that I can hammer on and they stay put. I might have been able to get around the car with Matrix’s slowest activator and reducing it a little, but the car needed to go. I’m not afraid to try new clears at certain times, and will continue to do so. This time just did not work out so well. Thanks again.

No, it’s just prepped and waiting for me. Although I want it done, this is not a rush job. Maybe tomorrow or Monday AM. A bike and two portraits for the 20th take precedence. I’ll update.July 11, 2012 at 4:52 pm #37634
The keystone euro is pretty decent. Sprays nice and looks nice. Haven’t used it enough to say anymore than that. I would put it in the same category with AG-40. You sure he is a sikkens rep or an lkq salesman? 😛
Keystone is made by Cumberland. They specialize in private labeling. Believe they make some products for transtar also…
My lkq guy is a good guy…he worked for the sikkens store before the take over…but would hardly take any recommendations from him to heart.
The info in my post says how things changed within a year or so. My intial visit was by Sikkens reps; now it’s LKQ. Did not ask if he’s a real rep or not. Conversstion was brief. More info next week. Was unaware of a takeover. It seems AG, Transtar Euro(Kwik and Classic) and Keystone Euro are similar except for pricing. I’m familiar with Transtar Euro Kwik on bike parts and trike bodies only.

I have never had it pop on me either
What other products did he suggest?Hopefully not utech 4.0 or proair…
U-TECH MS, Keystone Euro amd Keystone Overall. He mentioned ProAir but I was told by someone it would not suit my needs. I have no experience with Keystone products. He did say his Euro would not lock up as fast as AG and also said the Overall was good. Have not researched the two yet. Supposed to come next week so I can try a couple products.
Does your Sikkens rep work for LKQ by chance?
I’m guessing that since your doing a complete on a 68 camaro you are wanting it to look pretty nice after the flow coat? Why not stick to the 2021 if you have experience spraying it? My first choice of clear for a nice job wouldn’t have a Keystone label on it.
What are your spraying conditions? Is there a certain cost you are trying to stay at for the product?
Yes. When I first contacted Sikkens over a year ago, the original rep only discussed Sikkens products. Fast forward: Different rep and now other products are being promoted. Same intitial contact number got re-routed numerous times. It’s obvious what he wants to sell by what his recommendations are. I let him talk so I could figure out what his angle was.
Not a downdraft. 500 sq ft homemade filtered intake crossdraft, excellent exhaust, don’t know CFM. Overspray clears quickly. CamAir filter, 3/8″ hose. Nothing in area but item being sprayed. This is not a battle zone. I’ve seen better designed and equipped booths than mine on this and other sites and I’ve seen worse. 20 years ago we built a downdraft that worked perfectly. Completes are no longer my primary work, only bi-yearly.
I believe I will use the 2021 now. Unsure if using extra slow in AG is a guarantee. I was unaware there would be such a dramatic difference with the AG. It was recommended by more than one person and I was interested in trying it. As was already stated, it may not have been the wisest decision, but non action would not provide any knowledge. If I shot a bike first I would have known how AG performed. The Camaro has a budget but I’m not throwing garbage on it. Price difference between AG and 2021 or another clear was not a determining factor. New product experience was. I left the collision business for a long time and then re-entered painting, and more work is required to acquire product knowledge. It’s easy to stay on top of things when you do it all day everyday for twenty years and never leave. When I was in the booth years ago everyday it was different than now when i’m not. My new field of art and airbrushing requires a great deal of research and constant devotion as well. What KB size does this site prefer for photo posting? Thanks again to all for advice provided.

July 11, 2012 at 6:30 am #37627I hammered the parts not mounted on the car and the AG did not pop. Matrix claims AG is like Transtar Euro. I’ve shot a lot of Transtar and hammered it too with no issues. Unreduced and reduced.
July 11, 2012 at 5:41 am #37624Thanks for the responses. Extra slow would have to be dramitically different from the slow to make this complete work. I only want to shoot this one more time. I was not expecting this clear to lock up so fast. Not opposed to using another clear at this point. Not sure how much weight this carries, but the Sikkens rep said with a lot of air movement that’s the way the Matrix clear is, and worse yet with the heat.
