Hello fella I would just use normal/medium thinner personally and they recommend you use their thinners as it’s more money in their pocket ! So I would use any decent thinners really that’s what I did ! Hope this helps

Personal preference really I’m a sata man myself but depends on how much you want to spend the sata 4000s are bullet proof and give good results but then so do iwata and devilbiss !

Yeah I used that and it’s a very expensive paint brand ! I take it you don’t have the heat quads in your booth then and drying the paint with a blower will take ages as you put all 3 coats in one hit to be honest with you fella I honestly don’t know what else to say ! :S

Definitely PPG Envirobase one of the best ones I’ve used along side nexa autocolor which is basically the same

DuPont then what sort of issues are you having with it ? I haven’t used solvent based paint for the last 8 years being in the UK we have crossed over to water base years ago !

Hmmm I’m sorry to say that your stuck then mate ! I had the same problem a few years ago what paint scheme are you using if you don’t mind me asking and why is it crap ?

I’m sorry to say but Jayson is correct you shoot that much clear in one hit doesn’t matter if you leave a 5 or 10 min flash off time between coats that’s what will happen but I do see your point though ! Also 2.4 bar is a little excessive try dropping it down to 2 bar I know R-M crystal clear you have to spray it at 2.2 bar otherwise major orange peel as I found out !

It depends on what you want to use it for really I use my sata 3000 hvlp for base coats and the RP for clear coats

That is a really tricky subject as you can tell your boss use this paint as it’s better etc but he will look at costs and productivity of the paint schemes also how good is your working relationship with your boss ? I would carefully bring up the subject and tell him how you don’t think the paint you have is any good and the clear coats doesn’t lay down nice etc and go from there really !

I use PPG Enviobase in the UK and if you have the same touch screen computer it will tell you what colour primer to put on eg. G5 but in general reds or yellows including metallics will require a few more coats in most paint systems. Hope this helps
