Thank you all very much for the input!!
if it makes any sense, the imperfections started to appear a few days after it was painted….or maybe i just missed them when i first layed down base and clear coats..

So the best fix is to sand the clear down to the base color then re-apply base and clear??

    I used a 2K primer.
The hood is very contoured so i used a combination of different length blocks as much as i can.
the surface appeared to be nice and flat after sanding. the imperfections look like the surface before priming where i was sanding the old paint down, some of the areas broke into the OEM primer and i think thats what i can see.
the hood is aluminum if that makes any difference?

Well gents, I installed the marker lights on the white Z. The finish is straight from the gun, no sanding and buffing.
These look absolutely amazing when the sun hits them!!
I also had a practice center panel that i also sprayed (there is no surface issues thats the reflecton of the clouds!) i hit this one with some polish to see what happens.

Just a little test run before i smoke out the tail lights 🙂

I prepped the surface with sanding paste
sprayed on some Bulldog adhesion promoter
mixed in 1/2TSP black candy pearl powder per 250ml
    6 light coats.

    Thanks for the input!

SO… I would mix up the clear per the instructions and mix the black base also per instructions then basically combine the two until i obtain the shade i require?
I’m presuming I can’t just add the base to the clear without the base hardener??

my compressor is a Kobalt 60 gal running on 240v, its rated at 15 CFM @90PSI. Im also using a refrigerated dryer.

I’ll double check my assembly and clean everything again.

I have just purchased the Dekups that should arrive tomorrow, i’m planning on painting (again) the hood this weekend with this setup. I used the Techline to clear a fender just for practice with no issues but when i cleared the hood with the Tekna (fighting the above issues) I see dark stripes that can sometimes been seen in just the correct lighting..??

using the 7E7 air cap with 1.3 fluid tip, currently with the standard aluminum cup.

    Thanks for the input guys!
