you guys ever do a metallic and on the last coat drop the pressure way way down like to 10psi and pull back a little, that seems to kill the problem all together including any type of zebra striping, but the key is I find with metallics is to let them dry real good between coats and def. tack after every coat

i like the 3000rp with the 1.4 for single stage it seems to throw it on better to me anyway, i tryed to use my hvlp nr2000 with a 1.3 and noticed with s/s the fan wasnt quite right either so i think i know what your talking about, its almost like the widest part of the fan doesnt have as much material as it should and i found myself doing the same thing..closeing up the fan a bit, so it might be something with the needle size vs air/fan adj but all in all the 3000rp’s are good guns, im deeply thinking of grabbing up one of the new 4000rp’s for base and retire the nr2000

i’m going to have to go with Ding on this one, throw a few drops of hardner in your basecoat and this problem will not continue, i ran into this issue with ppg a long time ago, the reducers are very agressive and fire up the basecoat, but if you put hardner in the base it locks it right up

be warned that if you do you 2021 dont put on the first coat like you want it to look put it on kind of pealy cuz for some reason that shit loves to hit the floor, my first time useing that clear was a nightmare, bt once you know the trick with it you can come out with real nice results, so fist coat put on a little light then after that you can put it on how you want it and it stays, dont know why but thats how it seemed to work best for me

i got a 2000 hvlp 1.3, love it, but i must say the 3000 rp 1.3 for base or clear i like it a lot it,s taken me some getting used to but now that i found an air pressure that works for me i got the rp dialed right in to the point where i can panel paint a bunch of metalics without question, i had posed that i was looking into some other guns but i ended up changeing my mind after talking with a friend of mine that was used to the rp’s and soon realized i was useing them totaly wrong due to being used to hvlp for so many years, i will say you wont regret buying one just hang in there for a while cuz like i said i didnt like it at first but now im a big fan, and it seems on this site a majority of people are die hard sata users, them crouts know a spray gun:stoned
