Or White Shop Towels….they don’t dissolve with gun cleaner as quick as the blue ones.
used the finish 1 740 and found its really runny , and loses gloss once dried! has anyone tried bernardo clear?
Sounds like you stacked it too high if it ran and lost gloss(dieback). My Honda is still shining after 5 plus years in the 100 degree plus Summers here. The car has never been in the garage. I have used those clears for close to 10 years back when it was RS clear with great success. The clear on it now (Finish 1/ RS) has lasted almost as long as the factory applied…in another year or 2 anyway. 60 bucks a gallon setup ain’t bad at all.

Epoxy is the way to go. But If you are going etch remember etch on filler but never under filler. Epoxy is much more user friendly after the rust is eliminated by blasting or treated with converter.

If you need a good deal on a gun go to e-bay….look closely and study all the options and you can get killer deals on a Sata 3000 RP. I know from experience. Bought 2 3000s for 600 bucks..awesome! Have a blessed week!

bondo knows……..I have been shooting matrix, omni, and fc clear for the last few years. Sherwin has been the most dependable as far as die back… cant say that its happened once after the gallons and gallons of sherwin clear I have sprayed…..lay it down like you want it to look. :deadhorse

Sorry to hear about your father.

tell us a little about your shop. the size, # of employees, DRP, etc and we can help with some specific advise. In general be honest, fair and upfront
with everyone. Get paid for what you do, dont sell yourself short.
We are a state-farm select first shop. 2 body-men one painter (me)! We do about 5 cars a week so not a lot of volume, which hopefully I can change that. I’m looking to hire a painter soon so I can focus on the business end of things. I plan on trying to take on 1 or 2 more DRP’s, and doing some P.R work. We are apart of the chamber of commerce so that’s a bonus as well as I am apart of a networking group of businesses in our local area so that should help increase volume as well. My wife is going to keep the books, and my cousin who is an accountant will help with everything involved as far as that’s concerned. I really pray that I can make things work, not only as good as my Dad did but hopefully better. Were not a huge shop, but we have an excellent reputation for doing quality work. I know I can handle it, but I still have to go through all the legal mumbo jumbo…..
Sorry about your Dad Rodney.
With the good foundation you have to build on you will do fine.
Take Ding’s advice. Sounds like its time to really put the nose to the grindstone for now.
    Hang tough and best wishes.
