    thanks ben!

i am looking to switching to de-beer w/b and speaking to the rep he said always use a sealer before b/c

just that i have always wetsanded with 5/600 before and based directly on sanded primer (with solvent base)

when i tried wet on wet before i ended up with shrinkage/mapping that you could then see through the finished job from the sealer

obviously never allowed enough dry time?

do you think the results would be good ? or maybe get 1200 discs too?

i would go out and buy some xirralic tinters in the colours you want and some clear base and apply as a mid coat easier and will look 100000 times better imo !

this is red xirralic on base black car

    thanks guys !

done the bay today … fully stripted sanded and sealed …..was going to go the full on smothed look but decided against it!

so scuffed the paint applied one coat of epoxy to seal up metal/paint then fired some thinned stone chip down so it was a slight textured look then made up a grey from bmw pure silver and panther black  then 3 coats of debeer clear coat

    pics

    primer

thought grey bay would be a nice contrast on black !

now i am going to simplify the wiring as i am using standalone ecu i can get rid of the bulk of bay wiring just keep wires for the wipers and the lights = i will chop these at the fuse box and run a new extended loom down the legs on both sides

then i am into the engine / strip down/sandblast/clean/ paint and fit the throttle boddies

pics to come as it happens

Yes you must sand the whole panel after you prime your repair to prep for a blend of colour then clear the full panel
