    I still stand behind my post Autobody toolmart does not have the 4000RP (three catalogs ago it was listed but has not been in the the last 2 because it not compliant as of yet even the link timbo posted did not show the RP only the HVLP).

    Well your a lucky SOB jayson hope its as good as all the hype,I think im going to pick up an HVLP version Thursday as its all I can get 🙁

    Keep us posted on what you think I may wait for the RP if you think its worth it. Tell them you want an HVLP to see how it works with base

    which brings up a couple questions I have for you jayson

    what are you using it for base? clear? primer? lol what tip did they give you?

    isnt the 2002-2042 mid lvl clears and the DC4000 the better stuff for overalls? and the DC3000 For panel repair.
    Cost is about the same for all I see.

    DCU2002 = 243.55 gallon + 100.95 DCX61 quart of hardener
    DCU2021 = 198.10 gallon + DCX61 Hardener

    DCU2042 = 223.95 gallon + DCX61 Hardener

    DC3000 = 167.30 gallon + DCH3085 68.20 quart hardener
    DC4000 = 218.05 gallon + DCH3085

    Prices are Shop price list from my ppg software Dated oct 4, 2010

    no look closer at your material the 4000 HVLP has been available NOT THE RP! the price is not them same either the 4000’S come with no cup for $695 while the 3000’s do extra cup is $80 or 3m adapter is $10 I suppose you can say its the same if you never needed to use the cup but then the 3000 without a cup should cost $80 less IMO but thats not available :deadhorse

    you get him to give us a deal whats the cost?

    December 8, 2010 at 11:11 am #26022

    The 2042 is a compliant clear for califonia and the 2002 clear is a good speed clear out of dust in 15-20 min using DFX11 hardener but takes 12 to cure at 70 degrees F(unless you got a heated booth) I have been hearing about the Shopline clears like JC660, JC661, JC60 Spraying like DC3000 Clear but Cost Half the Money I havent checked Prices on this but they were claiming to 100-150 for the setup (gallon clear and quart hardener)I will ask the rep tomarrow what current prices are maybe someone else can chime in and give better info
