ya the 9.1% increase this year was a bit crazy. but they got balls enough to charge that much they are not worried about pissing anyone off. I highly Doubt that they will go out of buisness but like the article said it was not looking at the company as a whole just the parent company meaning the plate glass side.

well we use a R717 Refrigrent dryer but I would guess this would not be the route you would take. but sadly them eaton comp people make refrig. dryers for cheap also not sure if you want to stick with them.

I have used Pneumatech dryers in the past they are nice as long as you know the air flow in your building (burned out a few fan motors because of this) and we just ripped it out and threw it away and piped it in to the R717 unit we already had

The old shop I used to work at installed a Kaser compressor may be you might want to check them out.

the comp is on the left side of the pic on the floor and the airdryer sits on top of the tank. Ok the pic im talking about is the 3rd one. The gallery just comes up with my link :compsmash

Ya see the motor spins at 1800 rpm the pump spins at 740rpm

on another note it also says that motor is no longer available(not a big deal really) any 10hp 215T 1800rpm motor will work 6YP06 – Replacement Motor , 1WD22 – Replacement pump

    December 30, 2011 at 4:41 am #34971

well I can’t say I have seen a 700rpm motor most are 1750rpm or 3600rpm and the pumps are turning 700rpm

do you have a model number I could just go to grainger and see what motors are on that comp

    December 30, 2011 at 4:04 am #34961

The speed of the pump really doesnt mean it will fill slower as the HP is greater so the Pistons are much bigger movin that much more air , I have heard of the speedaire but I have no experience with them.

hey bloverby it looks like all the compressors you linked to all have the same pump as the eaton compressors from the pictures.

the only thing different that I see are the electronics and where the air cooler is placed oh and the outlet is higher on the tank

its a shame that so many manufactures use the same pump in different configurations but such is life huh
