Hey great work there Andy ! :weights
What sort of clear and hardener are you using in these extremely low temps? Do you use your regular guns on these jobs? (Iwata’s of course) or mini guns?

Does anyone here use sata hvlp’s for base coat? I currently own two sata rp’s and was thinking of getting a first gen hvlp with wsb cap. Would that be any good for solvent base? Never really used the sata’s in hvlp
i would hazard a guess it would ,i have just sold a ha set to a mate with geo and that has worked for him ,i will be doing the same with my geo as i have few ha set ups knocking around
Would you pay $160 for a fx ha setup? Seems a little steep to me.

Do you reckon a fx geo nozzle set would work in there fx hvlp model? There is a place here in Australia that also has the fx ha 1.2 setups available.
i have all the restricted bellhousing caps for the 0.9 set ups a 308 cap for lower cfm spraying with a wider paatern i use that also for the 1.5 set p ,i also have a full blown hvlp delrin cap for the 1.5 ,without digging it out i cant recale the actual number asigned to it

if memory serves then Foose could be useing a 705 or 706 cap,if his issac is the HS model it could well be a 726 which is red and for high solids the HS guns are silver where the stock issac 7 is black

as i say Accuspray have an aray of caps inc low CFM caps and ones designed for higher viscosity aplication ,often they also vary depending on the tip size hence why they produce so many caps
He was using a silver version if that means anything. Paul have you had any troubles with the seals in your walcom guns?

What set ups do you have on your isaac guns? From the video of chip foose using it, it appears to have a red aircap if that means anything?

Are the isaac guns still available to buy? Are they worth it

With the bellaria there hasn’t been any feedback from actual users out there so I didn’t particularly want to take the risk. Was on you tube last night watching chip foose paint a Chrysler which they were giving away in a raffle at the sema show. The interesting thing was he was using a weird looking gun to apply the silver base I think it was a Isaac 7 gun. Then another guy cleared the car for him and used an iwata lph 400 with the lvx cap. I was thinking because I have a lph 400 myself with silver cap good for clearing not so good for base maybe I could just purchase the lvx air cap for base. Do you think that would work?

Paul do you think an iwata wbx would be any good for base coat, I know you’ve mentioned that they use them for clear, painting Aston martins what are your thoughts?

To be honest I haven’t used 3M compound enough in a production shop to compare it to the farecla. Been using the farecla extra as its called here in Australia for about a month now and I find it to be super quick! No mess and so far no rub marks have reappeared. The farecla I used before this was the G6 rapid and this doesn’t even compare to the new formula! 😉

I use the one that’s just been released in Australia which is the g3 extra. I find it cuts up 1500grit very very quick with just a small amount of compound, and leaves barely any mess. I use the g mop pad with it, great if you work in a high production shop.

That fire looks really good! how long have you been airbrushing for?
I did a couple of airbrushing courses a few years back and loved it. I need to keep practising though
